Meaning of Ardra Nakshatra
Ardra is traditionally associated with storms, upheaval and renewal. Rudra, its deity, is the fierce form of Shiva.
Its gana is Manushya. Gana is a classification of temperament into Deva, Manushya and Rakshasa that is used in Kundli matching.
Ardra Padas and Navamsa
| Pada | Starts | Ends | Rashi | Navamsa |

The Navamsa sign of each pada is used in the Navamsa chart, the divisional chart most often read for marriage and the deeper strength of planets.
Ardra and the Dasha Sequence
The lord of Ardra is Rahu. If the Moon was in Ardra at birth, the Vimshottari Dasha sequence begins with the Mahadasha of Rahu, which lasts 18 years in full. The part remaining at birth depends on how far the Moon had travelled through the Nakshatra.
Rahu also rules Swati and Shatabhisha.
